NORTON WRIGHT
An art major at Yale University, Mr. Wright studied with reknowned, Bauhaus
artist Josef Albers and attributes his regard for color to that master painter.
Continuing his studies at Otis College Of Art & Design in Los Angeles, Mr.
Wright has been presented in solo exhibitions in both Los Angeles and San
Francisco.
Pursuing a dual career in fine art and the entertainment industry, Mr. Wright
produced the "Sesame Street" television series for six years in NYC before
moving to Los Angeles as producer of the Emmy Award-winningİTV series,
"Freestyle", and television movies with stars Robert Urich, Anne Archer, Charlton
Heston, Susan Lucci, Richard Thomas, Debbie Reynolds, and Ed Asner,
Mr. Wright's painting style features a unique and vivid color palette and
explosive petroglyph accents in compositions favoring jazz-like spontaniety and
evoking the assymetry of the 16th Century's Italian mannerists (Parmegianino,
Il Pontormo, Russo, Romano, et al.) renowned for filling their foregrounds with
action and exploding spatial releases off left or off right in compelling
imbalance.
