Margaret Francis and Augustus Francis are both mother and son as well as highly accomplished painters whose individual visions reflect a highly distinctive and refined aesthetic. Working with Sam Francis' own brushes and paints, both mother and son continue the tradition of immediacy and vitality that marked Francis as one of the preeminent artists of his day.
